Full Moon Paddle
What: A relaxing night paddle under a full moon.
When: Friday, June 17, 2016, 7:30pm until.
Where: Ward Creek into Bayou Manchac.
Who: Anyone who wants to.
We’ll be arriving around 7:30pm at Ward Creek off South Mall Drive (across the street from the back of Jo-Ann Fabrics on 10545 S Mall Dr, Baton Rouge, LA 70809) and heading down Ward Creek by 8pm (time, tide, and moonlight paddles rarely wait). The trip will be about eight miles, all downstream, with the exit off Camp Drive in Prairieville. (The last time we paddled this run as a night paddle, it was well under three hours long, but with less experienced paddlers, it can be longer… but more relaxing.)
If you’d like to join us in your own boat, we can assist with shuttling or provide an address and contact info for leaving a vehicle at the take-out point (which is very convenient after a night paddle). If you don’t have your own boat and would like to join, well, you’re in luck. We have a selection of canoes and kayaks available for your paddling pleasure. Just contact us by email or call 225-366-8254 to make your reservation. (We do not charge for our trips or the use of our boats, but if you’d like to make a small donation, those are always appreciated.)
