Cleanup Videos and Upcoming Fun Paddle

We deployed three sections of our portable dock at Bayou Fountain for a paddle cleanup last weekend.  About 30 LSU volunteers came and helped clean a section of the bayou in advance of this weekend’s fun paddle.

This Saturday, April 23rd, we’ll be paddling from Highland Road Park on Bayou Fountain to Manchac Park on Bayou Manchac.  We’ll have the portable dock to make launching easy, and it should be a nice, casual “three-hour” tour, all downstream.  (We’ve made “three-hour” tours four hours long before, and we’ve finished them in two hours and change, too. Call it a rule of thumb.)

If you’re bringing your own boat and self-shuttling or doing a two-car shuffle, we’ll be launching at 10am.  If you need us to shuttle you, or if you’d like to paddle in our canoes and kayaks, we still have some available.  Call us at 225-366-8254 any time from now through about 8am Saturday morning and we should be able to get you on the list.

We hope to see some of you out there. It’s looking like it should be a fantastic day for a paddle trip.  And thanks again to the volunteers who helped out last weekend.
