Paddle Black and Red this Saturday!
Paddle Black and Red this Saturday!
Stop the presses! This just in: It’s time for another edition of Paddle Black and Red, our red-lights-only new moon night paddling trips.
Last October, we decided to try something different than our usual full moon paddles and do a trip on a new moon instead. Only red lights, to preserve night vision and make it awesome. Everyone had a great time, even Mike, who ran into a tree or two. (He was fine, and his GoPro didn’t even fall off.) Well, it’s a bit short notice, but we just looked at the calendar and noted that Saturday is perfect for another, so here we go.
Launching: Ward Creek at South Mall Drive (off Siegen), meet to launch at 7pm.
Landing: East end of Camp Drive, Prairieville (approximately), 10-ish (perhaps 11 on a slow night).
Length: Eight miles of easy downstream paddling on Ward Creek and Bayou Manchac.
Logistics: For pre-trip shuttling or two-car instructions, reply here, call, or email to set things up. For post-trip shuttling, no worries, we leave no one behind.
You do not have to be a member of PaddleBR to join us for this fun event, but if you’re not a member, please consider a small optional donation ($5, perhaps) to help offset insurance/expenses. Or even better, get your membership in person Saturday or anytime at Support.PaddleBR.com.
